Tournament Champions / All-Tournament Honors

Congratulations to Coach Cliff Coleman and our junior high girls basketball team for finishing their regular season with an incredible undefeated (30-0) record.  The girls advanced to win the championship title in the girls large division of the James C. Haile State Tournament, defeating Cornerstone, Brentwood, Cleveland (in overtime), and Westwood, giving them a 34-0 overall record.  Receiving the honor of All-Tournament were Savannah McIntyre, Alexa Middleton, Juliann Peters, and Jazz Bond for the girls and Derrick Spears for the boys.  Way to go, Cougars!  (Pictures of All-Tournament winners are on our Photo Album page.)

Volleyball Signee

Congratulations to senior Hannah Claiborne, who has signed to play volleyball at Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tennessee.   Hannah is the daughter of Doron and Kathee Claiborne.

Rutherford County Honor Band Members

Congratulations to Andrew McMahan and Dylan Scott for making the 2010 Rutherford County Senior and Junior Honor Bands!!  These two young men will participate in the Honor Bands on February 25 and 26 with the best musicians from schools across Rutherford County.  Impressive!

Eagle Scout

Congratulations to senior Sawyer Eddy for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout.  Sawyer is a member of troop 901 of Rural Hill Church of Christ in Antioch, TN.  For his eagle project, he constructed a kickboard to be used by the soccer teams here at MTCS.  Way to go, Sawyer.

Madrid/Paris Trip

The MTCS trip to Madrid and Paris in summer 2010 is sponsored by EF student tours.  The more participants we have, the less likely we are to be combined with another group.  There will definitely be a subgroup going to Italy together when the EF tour is over (extending the trip by about 4 days).  Current price including air from Nashville is about $2400 for students and $2800 for adults.  See the tour at www.eftours.com tour # 678487.
