Trap Team Shoot

The high school trap team won 1st place at the AIM shoot on Saturday, March 6th.  Trey Hill led the team with a perfect 100 out of 100.  The winning squad consisted of Todd Pirtle, Ethan Fetz, Austin Lowe, Trent Inman, and Trey Hill.  The Junior team won 1st place in their class as well.  Pictures from the shoot can be viewed at www.mtcstrap.com/photos.

District/Region Tournaments / All-District Team

Congratulations to our high school Lady Cougar basketball team for placing third in the District 9-A tournament with a win over Cascade on Monday, February 22nd.  Named to the All-Tournament Team were Katie Mullins, Alex Martin, Julia Howard, and Sara Sims.  In addition, Katie Mullins and Alex Martin were named to the girls District 9A All-Season Team.  (Photos of the award winners are on our Photo Album page.)  The Lady Cougars advanced to the Region Tournament and defeated White-House Heritage in the first round and Forrest High School in the semi-finals.  They lost a hard-fought game to Moore County in the Region Championship on Wednesday, March 3rd, but earned a spot in sectional competition, falling to Wayne County on Saturday, March 6th. Coach Dan and the team would like to thank all those who supported the team throughout the season, especially those who rode the Pep Bus and the many parents and fans who drove so far to cheer them on.  (Photo courtesy of Danny Parker, Shelbyville Times-Gazette).

All-District / All-Tournament Team

Congratulations to Chris Brandon for being named to the All-District Basketball Team for District 9-A, and Killen Middleton for being named to the All-District and All-Tournament Teams for District 9-A.

All-American Trap Shooter

Congratulations to Trey Hill, who was recently recognized for being a first team All-American trap shooter for  his age division in 2009 by the American Trap Association.  Trey was highlighted in the February 2010 issue of Trap and Field Magazine.

Madrid/Paris Trip

The MTCS trip to Madrid and Paris in summer 2010 is sponsored by EF student tours.  The more participants we have, the less likely we are to be combined with another group.  There will definitely be a subgroup going to Italy together when the EF tour is over (extending the trip by about 4 days).  Current price including air from Nashville is about $2400 for students and $2800 for adults.  See the tour at www.eftours.com tour # 678487.
