HEADLINES:

Cross Country girls place at Invitational

Congratulations to the girls' cross country team who placed 3rd at the Sharp Springs Invitational on Saturday, September 24th.  Cathy Throneberry and Katy Calahan both received trophies for their top 20 finishes.  Way to go, Cougars!

MTCS student cast as Scout

Sarah Kate Helton, 4th grade student and daughter of Trey and Monica Helton, has been cast in the role of Scout for the upcoming Arts Center of Cannon County production of To Kill a Mockingbird, based on the novel by Harper Lee.  The play opens October 7th and runs Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through October 22nd.  Tickets are $10.  Please come out and support her.  MTCS is blessed with so many talented students.

New BETA members inducted

The BETA Club recently inducted new members.  This organization recognizes students for their academic achievement, service, and integrity.  BETA members can be found at school, church and community functions helping out and serving others.  Active members maintain a 3.5 grade point average and earn 5 service hours throughout the year.  Congratulations to these new members:  Rebekah Wade, Taylor Sanders, Britt Roberts, Juliann Peters, Kristen Perry, Hannah Nichols, Clay Mitchell, Kelsey Lester, Erin Jennings, Kyle Howard, Buford Throneberry, Kayla Pickard, Jordan McBride, Philip Bonabi, Derrick Spears, Katelynn Farmer, and Anna Holland.

Publix key fobs available

Everyone knows that Kroger Cares and SCRIP card programs are great ways to help MTCS.  But there is one more way to help.  MTCS has partnered with Publix to earn a percentage of all money spent shopping at any Publix grocery store.  Key fobs were sent home with elementary students, and parents of junior high and high school students can pick up their key fobs in the Business Office during school hours.  Each time you shop, show the key fob to the cashier, and a percentage of your total will be paid back to MTCS.  NO TEP CREDIT WILL BE CALCULATED ON THESE AMOUNTS, but this is such an easy thing to do to help MTCS.  So be sure to start using your key fob today.

North Boulevard to sponsor Courageous showing

Now, more than ever, men need to be challenged and encouraged to model Godliness to their families. The men's ministry at North Boulevard Church of Christ has bought out a theatre for the 10:00 p.m. showing of the movie Courageous this Friday, September 30th, at the Wynnsong 16 on Cason Lane. For those wishing to attend, they will sponsor a meal and time of praise at the Life Center at North Boulevard at 7:30 p.m., before heading to the theatre for the 10:00 p.m. showing. Those unable to join them for the meal are still encouraged to join them for the movie at 10:00. Cost is $10 for the meal and movie, and $7 for the movie alone. Tickets can be purchased in the high school office through Wednesday.
