MTCS Tuition Exchange
Program
Middle Tennessee Christian
School must raise approximately $700,000 each year to maintain our operational
budget. In our current economic climate, we understand the magnitude of this
challenge. It is time to join forces and expand our fundraising
efforts.
The Middle Tennessee
Christian School Tuition Exchange Program (TEP) will allow parents to earn
credit toward their own family tuition bill and support the general operating
fund. We are launching the program with Kroger Care cards and Scrip cards. MTCS
receives a percentage of sales from both of these existing programs. The TEP
will now make it possible for families to apply half of the earnings to their
child’s tuition bill and the other half to the general fund.
In addition, there will soon
be a link through Edline to allow families the opportunity to view a running
total of their fundraising efforts.
HOW IT WORKS (Example)
Kroger Care Cards
• Parents purchase a
Kroger Care Card from the TEP. Each card has $5.00 loaded on it from Kroger
and will sell for $5.00. Cards can also be purchased from the Business Office during regular
office hours.
• At the time of
purchase, families must designate the Tuition Account
Holder who is to receive
credit from that card. Each card will be designated to only one account.
Families with multiple tuition account holders must purchase multiple cards.
• Kroger will donate
4% of all money loaded on your card. When funds are received at MTCS, 2%
will be credited to your TEP account; 2% will be credited to the MTCS operating
fund.
• Use your Kroger
Care card to purchase groceries, prescriptions, postage, gas, etc.
• Cards must be
loaded at the check-out counter or the Service Desk before your groceries are
purchased. You may use any form of payment accepted by Kroger.
• Your TEP account
through Edline will be updated on a monthly basis as we receive the report from
Kroger.
Scrip
(Scrip Order Form)
• We will continue
working with the Great Lakes Scrip Center. The Scrip Center negotiates with
retailers who offer gift cards at face value and agree to donate a percentage to
participating nonprofit organizations like MTCS.
• Different
retailers have different percentages, ranging from 2% to 25%. For instance, when
you order a $25 gift card from O’Charley’s, they will donate $3.25 to the
school.
• Half of that
donation will go to your family’s TEP account and half will go toward the
general operating fund.
• Find all Scrip
retailers on their website www.glscrip.com.
Check this list when you place an order as percentages are
subject to change without notice.
• Order gift
certificates for restaurants and stores where you already shop.
• Orders can be
placed: Mondays turned in to homeroom teacher or Business
Office by 8:15am. Cards will be available for pick up the following Friday in the Business Office during regular business hours.
Your TEP Account
TEP Earnings Reports can be accessed via your Edline account. Earnings will accumulate for a school year. On
or around May 31st, the total
amount earned toward tuition will be sent to the Business Office to
be applied to your August 2011 tuition bill. If a student does not return to
MTCS, all funds will be forfeited to the general operating fund. NO CASH WILL
EVER BE GIVEN TO TEP ACCOUNT HOLDERS. TEP Funds can only be applied to tuition. |
