SumoBot

Students from the Engineering Technology class recently studied Electrical Engineering and used what they learned to build Sumo Bots. These robots are designed to compete against each other to push their opponent out of a ring.  The robots included sensors to detect the location of their opponent and the edge of the ring and were programmed by the students to perform defensive and attack maneuvers.  At the conclusion of the project a double elimination tournament was held to crown the MTCS SumoBot champion.  The winning robot was built by the team of Ben Pearcy and Grant Chalmers.  Additional information about SumoBot competitions can be found at http://www.parallax.com/html_pages/robotics/sumo/sumobot.asp.
