Invention
Convention
March,
2006
Each
of our 6th graders was asked to create an invention that fell in one
of the two categories: games or making life easier. Mr. Sabir, Mrs.
Mankin, Mrs. Haley, and Mrs. Cooper were asked to judge the inventions and pick
the top 3 in each category. Janie Harper was our tie-breaking judge.
At the school these were the winners in each category. Games: #1
Math Scrabble – Adam Parker, #2 Who Wants to be Class President? – Ivey
Starling, and #3 What Um Do 6th Grade? – Hannah Wright
Making Life Easier: #1 Night Rider – Cristian Thomas, #2 Mail Light – Austin
Gaydosh, and #3 The Amazing Dog Washing Brush – Kayla Hickey. These
students then went on to compete at MTSU against 6th graders from 28
schools in the region. The winners from our school were: #1 in the
Making Life Easier category – Austin Gaydosh, Judge’s Favorite for the
Making Life Easier category – Kayla Hickey, and #2 in the games category –
Hannah Wright.
