ELEMENTARY HAPPENINGS
November 30, 2007
John Webb
’s 6th graders discovered what “endothermic” and “exothermic” really
means as they recorded temperatures of substances before, during, and
after a chemical reaction. They
noted that baking soda and vinegar dropped several degrees after they were
mixed together because of the release of energy/heat!
The
Veteran’s Day Program was amazing! The chorus and band
groups did an outstanding job as they used music to remind us why we were
there. Hats off to Shawn &
Katie Frazier, and Valerie DeHoff for preparing and directing these
performances.
The
recent play, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, was
precious! The students did a
great job and made it a treat to attend.
Thanks to
Cathewryn Forrister
for directing it!
Lori
Gonzales, with her sidekick, Carol Lowe, and the whole gang of Preschool
teachers did it again! They
decorated and planned for their annual Feast with over 500 in
attendance! Our youngest
Cougars performed as well. Thanks
to Chef Peters and our Cafeteria Ladies for a delicious dinner.
It was a great evening!
Congratulations to Lisa
Richardson’s 3rd Grade Class for winning $200 for recycling
phone books!
