ELEMENTARY HAPPENINGS
September 9, 2011
When MTCS students and parents are told of a service need, they sure know how to respond! The Elementary Service Day was a huge success! Over $5,000 came in to help with the cost of the Magi boxes and to ship them to Honduras. Around 1,000 tubes of toothpaste came in along with over 600 washcloths and over 300 marker sets. There was extra of almost everything! MTCS students compiled 200 boxes, and the remainder of the items will be sent to a local church for their Magi Box project to assure that these things will still be sent to the children in Honduras. What a blessing
this will be to all of those
children in Honduras!
To God be the glory!!!
Mariana Eddy does an amazing job of squeezing a lot of instruction into her brief time with the 1st - 6th grade students each week in Spanish class. In one lesson, she may teach a geography lesson on where Honduras is located (south of the U.S.), share a history lesson on the independence of Guatemala and Mexico, review numbers in Spanish, have a devotional in Spanish, review body parts in Spanish by singing “Hokey Pokey”, and share the meaning of two more of the Ten Commandments as they learn them in Spanish. In addition, she does all of this in a fun and interactive way! Wow! We are so blessed to have Senora Eddy!!!
