ELEMENTARY HAPPENINGS
August 21, 2009
Our 1st grade
teachers have been bragging on our kindergarten teachers because the kindergarteners
came into 1st grade with amazing handwriting!
You can see this for yourself in the hallway where some of their
work is displayed.
Human
Foosball, anyone?!?! Our
students have been playing this new game using long foam swim noodles and
beach balls. Thanks to Mary
Hibdon for bringing creative, fun activities into P.E.
Our 4th
graders are quite the nature artists!
They have done an incredible job drawing flowering plants and
labeling the parts in detail for Mike Pruitt’s science class.
Where
in the World? That is the question our 6th
graders answered for Dr. Joyce Rucker.
They students had to write about where they would like to go, why
they would like to go there, what they would do there, and who they would
take with them. Some want to
tour Europe, sightsee in
Japan
, deepsea fish in the
Bahamas
, and search to the Loch Ness Monster in
Scotland
. But my favorite of all was
the one that wanted to visit the places Jesus walked in
Israel
. These are posted in the
hallway if you want to read their answers!
Our 3rd
graders in Kathy Oxley’s class made slime today with Jenni Barnett,
Boone’s mom. They experienced the oozy gooey feel of it as they plunged
their hands into the mixture. One
young lady described it as “disgustingly wonderful!”
Happiness
is a direction, not a place.
Happiness
is... when what you think, what you say and what you do are in harmony.
