ELEMENTARY HAPPENINGS
August 14, 2009
Applying
I Corinthians 13
If
we teach our students to perform shining Broadway musicals but have not
taught them in love, it is nothing.
If
we guide them to balance chemical equations, find the circumference of any
circle, or write a novel and have not taught them to see God’s power, it
is nothing.
If
our students all obtain top test scores with ACT scores of 36 and earn
millions in
scholarships
but have not been shown
the
way to heaven, it is nothing.
If
we develop some of the greatest musicians and artists the world has ever
known but have not taught them to appreciate the gifts God has given them,
it is nothing.
If
we serve side by side with them in helping those in need and fail to give
God the glory,
it
is nothing.
If
we lead them to state victories in sports and do not display a godly
example when winning or
losing,
it is nothing.
God’s
way never fails.
But
where there are famous plays, state championships, academic honors, they
will cease.
But
the love of God and His Word will last forever.
That’s why we train for eternity!

Little Social Graces!
Earlier this
week, it was fun to watch some of our PK–4 students practice good
manners in
Kelly Smotherman
’s room. The little boys
were pulling out chairs for the little girls to sit down.
The girls would each say “Thank you”, and the boys would each
respond with “You’re welcome!”
Showing consideration to others and shining our lights in various
ways is emphasized in all of our homeroom and special area classes,
especially in guidance, chapel, & Bible class.
Training the whole child is what we are all about!
Isn’t it an
honor to be training for eternity!?!?!?
