Did you catch the Penguin Parade in the hallway going to the cafeteria? Vicki Kennedy’s 2nd graders each researched a different species, reported on it, and drew one to scale. Some penguins are taller than our PK-3 students!
Mr. Q and Miss U were recently united as they were married in a precious ceremony at Kingwood. Our kindergarten students represented the bride (Miss U) and the groom (Mr. Q) as well as the flower girls, ring bearers (carrying ring pops!), and the entire wedding party! Thanks to the teachers and parents for a fabulous wedding and reception to follow!!! A special thanks to Coach Stewart for officiating it with a smile! I think they will always remember that Q and U go together!
CIA - Compassion in Action! That is what our MTCS Early Learning Center (AKA Li’l Cougar Den) is encouraging us all to do! They are collecting children’s books for Ford-Madden Christian School in Liberia as well as for children in our community who are in need. If you have slightly used children’s books around the house that you would like to contribute to this worthy cause, please send them to us!!!
Backpack Blessings - Thanks so much for your support of this special elementary service project! Remember to send in items each week or as you have the opportunity to shop! These nutritious snacks feed hungry children here in Rutherford County. See the March Parent Focus for more info!
Since the elementary had no casual days this week and we need to dress nicely in regular dress code next Friday for Ms. Charlene’s visit, we will have casual days on Monday (Mar. 12), Wednesday (Mar. 14), and Thursday (Mar. 15) as a special treat before spring break! Enjoy!
Be sure to attend!
